Meet and greet at airport and transfer to your hotel then small city tour of Christchurch with hill top view  from Victoria Park. Next day transfer to the train station for your journey to Arthur's Pass with train(extra) or choose to travel in an SUV with a short stop to admire Arthur's Pass National Park. Continue towards Punakaiki via Lake Brunner for lunch and later onwards to the West Coast .
Next day we travel towards Hanmer Springs passing through the Buller Gorge. 1 night in Hanmer  with your accommodation near the hot thermal pools. Next day we  head to Kaikoura and a chance to do a whale watch tour(extra) and see dolphins and sperm whales among the sights-with helicopter , small plane or by boat. Meet and greet at Christchurch airport and transfer to your accommodation. We begin with a tour of  the Garden City and view from Cashmere Hill and Victoria Park. From Christchurch the next day we travel north to Kaikoura 1 night and possibility to do a Whale Watch cruise(extra) or by helicopter/plane(extra) and a short stop to see NZ Fur Seals.
Third day we depart for Nelson via Blenheim and Picton- small town hidden from the world but an important one all the same as it connects the South Island to Wellington in the North. Kaikoura and Nelson both offer golfing with spectacular views.   Nelson is renowned for its chutneys and artistic touch. You will easily find chutneys in the surrounding orchards or if you are more adventurous then we drive to Motueka and Abel Tasman National Park where you can kayak, hike or trail.
The fifth day we are in Punakaiki-the pancake rocks. With a 20 minute walk not far from the  famous rocks there is a short trail and you find yourself  walking through beach and forest. We then proceed to Greymouth for the night. The West Coast road is world renowned and is mentioned on Lonely Planet's Guide and we have opportunity to do various short walks. We follow the coastline for a while then head inland towards the Glaciers Fox and Franz Josef and the incredible forest of Kahurangi National Park. We spend two nights here for opportunities to view the Glaciers from above in a helicopter and even do some landings or hikes(extra).
We depart from the glaciers and head towards Haast Pass and Wanaka- a quiet town hidden between Cromwell/Queenstown and the Crown Range-it is renowned for being the place to visit for connoisseurs of wine and fine dining(extra). The next day we arrive  in  Queenstown -the adventure capital of the world and all it's adrenaline opportunities , making it our base for the next three days. A day tour to Fiordland National Park and UNESCO World Heritage- Milford Sounds or Doubtful Sounds(less hit by tourism and more peaceful)with a cruise and lunch on board(extra). At Doubtful Sounds visit the underground Hydro-electric station of Manapouri which feeds power to over 620 thousand homes(closed for maintenance till Oct 2017) or choose to do Glenorchy only 45 minutes from Queenstown where the approach to Isengard in Lord of The Rings movie was taken. Also great spot for doing trails in forest and lagoon/pools listening to sounds and songs from the Bell Bird and Tui.
The next stop is in Dunedin(2 nights) the town with its scottish origins in the Otago region. The Albatross Encounter and Penguin Colony(extra) excursions can be arranged. The last day we head back to Christchurch with a short stop at Moeraki Boulders and lunch . Transfer to your hotel in Christchurch. Tour can be personalized.

Private Tour or Transfer to Franz Josef

This private tour and/or transfer takes you through some spectacular scenery. From Christchurch travel through Arthur's Pass National Park then down into Westland District to finally reach the Glacier region with many photo opportunities and short walks along the way in the company of your driver/guide. This tour/transfer can be done in the reverse order.


Meet and greet at your accommodation in Christchurch or at the international airport of Christchurch. Travel in an SUV 4WD with commentary from your driver/guide. First stop is Castle Hill and its limestone formations then onward to Arthur's Pass village for a quick cup of coffee/tea and a short walk to look at the Bealey Chasm and the Devil's Punchbowl Fall.
The Otira Viaduct Lookout gives you a perspective of how  stage coaches made their way from the West Coast through this dangerous pass. Continue towards Hokitika for some lunch(at your cost) and to observe some Pounamu(greenstone) craftsmanship. After lunch a short trail through forest and dunes to reach the coastline and observe the wild nature of the Tasman sea.
Pass through Ross village and its historic gold mining cottages and through Whataroa and the White Heron Colony (extra cost - this activity must be pre booked) or choose to visit Okarito and do a short excursion by kayak on the tranquil lagoon to observe natural fauna and admire the flora with a specialized guide (extra cost can be paid directly to operator). From here it is a short drive to Franz Josef where your driver/guide will transfer you to your accommodation and bid you farewell.

    Travel in a SUV  with your own private guide through the scenic tourist drive to Lake Tekapo. Enjoy views and photographic stops along the way. From the Canterbury Plains passing through Selwyn District and it's wineries you reach the McKenzie District and it's picturesque lake with it's turquoise waters.


    Meet and greet with your private driver/guide from your accommodation in Christchurch or airport. Begin your day tour passing through  Christchurch city  with photo opportunity of the Re:Start Mall and Transitional Cathedral. Travel (duration is approx. 3 hours  30 minutes) through Ashburton the agricultural town of Canterbury. Have  a coffee at the Tin Shed of Geraldine while you look through the merino/possum clothing industry. Continue travel with your private guide to Tekapo. Stop at the picturesque church of the Good Sheppard and also photo opportunity of the lake itself and admire the turquoise water. After a late lunch you begin your journey back to Christchurch and stop for an ice-cream in Kiwi Country. Transfer back to your hotel in Christchurch late afternoon.
